Cleaning Chicken Water container

Hello!

Maybe a silly question but how do you clean a chickens plastic water container after using VetRx in it? I had been putting a couple of drops of VetRx in their water for about a week and I went to throughly clean it out this morning with soap and water but it still had a sticky residue left behind. Any tips on how to get rid of this? Vinegar maybe?

I would try soaking in vinegar yes.
