I know pregnant women aren't supposed to clean up the cat litter box but what about the duck house? Would just wearing gloves be okay or is there something in the poop that can harm the baby?

If a woman has been a cat owner for years, she’s normally immune to toxoplasmosis, so cat litter changing is generally OK. Your doctor can do a blood test to check on that score. I can change litter while pregnant, I don’t particularly want to because my sense of smell is so sensitive I gag and dry heave when I do.

The airborne issues with ducks are few from what I’ve read. Talk to your doctor of course, but I can’t imagine there is an impending threat to pregnant women that also isn’t a threat to children and adults in general. Obviously you should wash hands after touching waterfowl, not keep them as housepets, and not bathe with them. Although to my mind that’s the case for everyone, not just pregnant people. :idunno
