Hello,
This might be the wrong section to post this. What is the best way to clean eggs for consumption? I heard washing in cold water opens pores and can introduce bacteria. I also heard not to soak or scrub the eggs. Is placing them in the fridge prior to washing them better than leaving them on the counter? I have both guinea fowl and chickens, the guinea fowls have started laying lots of eggs and the chickens a just starting. Are both types of eggs similar when it comes to cleaning them?
Thank you.

You can do a search in the incubating forum on cleaning eggs. There are established procedures. They are the same for chicken or guinea eggs and the same for incubation or eating.

Personally, I just brush them off but my poultry aren't laying eggs in mud.
