cleaning eggs prior to incubation

hello when i received some shipped eggs some of them had poop on them. should i have cleaned them off? i was not sure. if so how would i have done this? could i still do this even though they have been in the incubator and it is not at 18 days

You can wipe the mess of gently with a warm damp cloth. Do not wash, do not scrub, it causes damage to the egg and can cause early deaths.

wew, have been inside bator, i won't take any risk of cleaning them when they've grow.
