I am wondering what are the best and safest products to use for cleaning and disinfecting the following things:

1. Feeders and Waterers

2. Wooden coop with tarp floor

3. Run with wire and wood

4. "sick" cage made of wire and wood (what will kill the germs that the previous chicken had before I put the next sick chicken in it?)

Thanks for your help!

My personal favorite is a dilution of bleach and water, spray everything down and wash whatever is washable, then let everything WELL AIR for a day or so. The problem is that some things may be resistant to bleach, so perhaps a specific livestock disinfectant would be better in your case, especially in the sick pen. I don't know, all I ever use is bleach.

Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) and water is great for cleaning bird cages.

You can also put some in the bird's water as a tonic and antibiotic.
Put it in a spray bottle with water to clean.

You can always fall back on a 10%-20% chlorox water solution. Great standby for general cleaning, germ killing and disinfecting. Personally I clean with the bleach and give them GSE in their water to knock out any germs and infections. Great for during cold weather.

I use oxine for anything that the birds will be eating or drinking from.

I also use bleach water and a disinfectant from my vets office calle d-256 (made by Vedco)

Your birds are lucky to have a mom like you. I drink myself too to clean me out. (with sugar water it taste like lemonade)

My chicks needed it because of a problem they brought with them....... if I would have only been using my oxine in the water it would not have spread.
