Hello. Just wondering about my dirty incubator... I had 4 chicks hatch yesterday, I have 2 from today and 2 with their beaks poking out of the egg... the incubator is soiled with poopies and it smells... will the late hatchers be ok? If I can give it a quick wipe out with just water it would probably improve the smell. Just don't want new chicks getting ill off being around poo!

Thanks in advance!

Use a spray bottle to mist the eggs with warm water. If there are ones that are pipped or zipping you might have a problem though. Watch them to see if any that were moving have stopped. The eggs that haven't pipped yet will be fine. Just make sure that your humidity is cranked up in there.

the pipped ones have hatched now, so won't be opening up again until morning to put them in the brooder. I'm not expecting any more hatching, but I guess you never know!
