My six little chicks hatched!!! They are in the brooder now and doing great! I just have a question about what ya'll use to clean your incubator after the hatch. I washed it with dawn but it still seems to be discolored in the water wells. It is a little giant styrofoam incubator. I was thinking about spraying it with clorox anywhere spray since it says it is safe for babies, pets, food etc. But I was afraid of residue left for future hatches. Any suggestions or experience with this would be great

Thanks

I use water with some plain clorox bleach added. Then I scrub it and rinse very well. Dont use full strenght clorox bleach, otherwise the fumes will say in the styrafoam for a few days. I did that once. I added too much bleach to the water and the incubator smelled like bleach for the next couple days.

Clorox it down with a 10% solution of regular (unscented) Clorox and water. Then allow to dry in the sun.
