Do you know which bird is producing that? I would immediately isolate her and pay close attention to her crop function. Can someone advise me what this could possibly mean? This is so abnormal.
The crop is on the right side of the breast. When they have been eating, you will feel food there - like a full pouch. They fill the pouch up before they roost and food is digested overnight. The crop (pouch) should feel empty/flat in the morning after sleeping all night and before they have had anything to eat/drink.I’m in Oregon, US. It’s been raining hard for the last couple days. This is my first sighting. They have been eating purena layena pellets without oyster shell for the last week and a half or so which is a change to their regular layena crumbles with oyster shell. I’m new to chickens as they’re about 9 months old so I don’t know how to check their crops. I will research that, thanks!
