clear roofs in winter/cold climates?

I am using the clear plastic roofing material on my serama coop. It's not clean so 100% light isn't shining through.
I attached a long piece of wood like a 1x4 lenghthwise
down the coop to create the slope so air can get under the plastic.
There is 1/4 inch hardware cloth covers the roof and 1/2 way down one end.
Also, I have a piece of plywood that I sit on top of the coop if it gets really cold.
