My hen did this type of poop yesterday. I don’t think she’s been laying. Before this she laid soft shell egg and I gave her calcium with vitD. I’ve seen pics similar to this before on this site but can’t find anything like it now.
Any ideas?

Yes she’s eating and acting completely normal. Running around with the others.
Is she still pooping that like or was it a one time thing?
How old is she?
What exactly do you feed?

Not sure if she’s still pooping like this. She’s a 3 year old EE of course no idea what the mix is that made her. They eat Nutrena layer crumbles and pellets with sunflower seeds as evening treat. I can’t imagine it’s food related. I’m at a loss!

It absolutely can be food related... Sunflower seeds and daily evening treats could be a huge problem.

Overfeeding treats which would mean feeding anything more than one tablespoon worth per day can cause a bird to become overweight. Overweightness alone can cause serious laying type disorders/infections.

Laying a soft shell egg is a problem that is most likely directly related to diet.

I would stop feeding treats immediately if I were you and only feed the layer crumbles.

Feeding daily treats take away from the bird getting a balanced complete diet. A balanced complete diet is exactly what the layer feed itself is.

How hot is it where you are currently.
That poop falls into what I would consider normal under a particular set of conditions.
Poop like that once in a while should not be a cause for concern. If that is all she ever poops then there is a problem.
Check her poops over a couple of days and if there are what you consider normal poops during that time I wouldn't worry.

My page keeps reloading not sure msgs are going through.
They get sunflower seeds only and only in the evening. It is not a huge amount and has never been an issue over the years. So I’m not thinking it’s dietary.

I’m in south central louisiana and the weather has been hot in mid 80’s with a small short cool front of 70+ passing through every week or two. I know my grow outs have been drinking a ton of water. Do you think perhaps it’s just from a lot of water?

And she’s not overweight. They free range on 1/2 an acre during the day and late afternoon they get to free range on another acre or so when we are outside. She feels like a solid weight but def not overweight at all. I’ll just keep monitoring her.
