Hi!
Hopefully you guys can answer this "duck" question for me.
I raised Mallard ducks and call ducks and one baby female wood duck
(she is tame)
together in a big pen that I placed in the water in our pond. They
are full grown now and I will let them slowly adapt to their floating island
complete with grasses and nesting boxes. My question is: Can my wood
duck mate with call ducks? Should I put a wood duck box on the island?
any info will be appreciated!
Thanks!

I'd put up a nest box just for the heck of it. She may mate with one of the domestics, but I don't know whether or not the eggs will be viable. Any offspring produced would be non fertile.

I don't know much about ducks but are wood ducks they kind that nest high in trees and the babies have to jump down to get to water

. I would suppose they can interbreed but, I would hate to watch them jump down - oy!

If you put "duck thread," in the search box, you can ask duck people whether they can interbreed or not.
