I have a squirrel that keeps outsmarting me.

It gnawed giant holes in the plastic containers and when I replaced those with metal, it learned how to get the top off. Right now I have a large box sitting on top of it but I don't foresee this as a long term solution.

BTW, it only tries to get at the scratch, it leaves the layer feed alone

Ideas anyone?

Thanks

Well, he's not only smart, he has good taste

I have metal cans for feed, so far no problem. I am surprised that a squirrel can get those lids off....I am sure if I'd get a racoon he'd get the lid off but would not expect that from a squirrel. Are there any type of metal bins or trashcan type of containers that have those clamps on the side ???

. Interesting. We've had some squirrels become real pests. They mostly raid my garden, especially the fruit trees. We've used traps for the really difficult ones. Not something I like doing but I don't garden just to feed the squirrels and you don't buy scratch to feed them either!
