Climate Change Killed Dinosaurs??

DH calls those Pterodactyl eggs

I've noticed that when chickens go through their "awkward phase" they do look a lot like velociraptors

No they aren't. Birds appeared in the fossil record before bird-like dinosaurs did. Parallel evolution. Birds and bird-like dinosaurs share a common ancestor, but dinosaurs didn't "turn into birds." There were already birds.

Ok, I stand corrected. That makes more sense anyways but a large dinosaur sized chicken would make a nice meal.

A "large dinosaur sized chicken" would think WE might make a nice meal!

I've often wondered if all the dragon references in literature didn't start from a few remnant flying dinosaurs. Very few things in life are thought up out of nothing. Makes sense to me that they all didn't die off at the same time. There could have been a few that lasted a while longer. I'm just romantic enough to love the idea of dragons (despite the blood and carnage and all that).

I read an interesting theory that early man saw some fossils and misinterpreted what he had seen, thus mythological creatures were invented. Don't know if that is true or not.

CityGirl, I've thought that too and you know what there are people who believe some dinosaurs are still alive today! I watched an episode of MonsterQuest (lol) and they investigated it and found tons of reports on dinosaur like creatures and tribes in Africa who swear that they exist. Who knows but it sure is fun to think there may be a stegosaur wandering around.

Not if it had teeth! I saw a show on tv about a scientists who was putting DNA into developing chicken embryos so that they could have teeth or a tail. He did not let the chicks develop past a certain stage.

No, I have no idea what purpose that served.

Don't forget squirrels.

No, no, no. Clearly it was the Neaderthal next door's dog that did it.

If it weren't for those darn squirrels. Imps would be the dominant species on the planet.

Imp- If we were just a little bigger than squirrels, just a little. (imp's pouting and stomping his feet)

BTW- Not all mythological creatures are myths
