Clip chicken claws?

Our chicken has one claw on each foot that has gotten long, and it seems that it is causing her some problems walking. Is there a way to clip her claws without harming her?

I just use clippers for dogs and that. I only trim away a little bit of the nail each time. It won't hurt her if you don't cut too far down.

I am relatively new to chickens - does this need to be done or won't them scratching around all day keep there nails within reason?

I'm not really sure but I would think that their nails would file down as they run around. If they get to long you can always just clip them.
