Very confused by the question but I ask you this if you were acting out would cutting off part of your mouth calm you down? Beak clipping is a horrible horrible thing to do to a chicken please dont

Old birds may teach new ones their tricks.

Egg eating can be caused by low protein(especially animal protein), low calcium and crowding stress.

The top beak on a chicken continues to grow through out its life, so you need to trim it periodically. If you don't the top part will over hang so far that the chicken will not be able to eat. I do not believe in cutting the beak to keep the chicks from pecking each other to death. If your chickens are pecking each other that bad you need a bigger pen or let them run loose. When you trim the top beak be careful, i like to gently push the beak together and take finger or toe nail clippers and trim the top beak to barely bigger than the bottom beak. IF YOU TRIM THE TOP THE SAME AS THE BOTTOM WHEN THEY OPEN THERE MOUTH THE TOP WILL BE A LITTLE TO SHORT? I hope this helps you.

The layers feed should have enough calcium, but put out oyster shell too in a separate container.
Layer feed might not have enough protein tho, especially if you are feeding other 'treats' in enough quantity to dilute protein levels.
Filing the point off beak will probably not help much and just stress them out.
