My hen seems to have a blocked nostril? She is acting normal otherwise. I seemed to have cleared one side but she will not let me get the other... I was about to put her and her brooder partner in with the rest of the flock this weekend but now I'm
worried she has something?

Please help. No chicken vets open until Monday

First I'd try to clean the other side, use a washcloth or paper towel with warm water. I wouldn't put her with the flock, is seems she has a respiratory problem. Does she have any other symptoms?

Literally no other symptoms. She and 1 other chicken have been together. But the other chicken is completely fine. They're about 12 weeks.

I have used saline, warm washcloth, tried to pick it out with the tip of a feather... she did not like that.
I'm struggling ha

Ok, I'd still separate her, chickens are goid at hiding illness. For a boost I like to give any sick chickens some nutradrench and electrolytes in their water even if you don't know what's wrong

Just keep rubbing it gently. It should loosen eventually

Do they have any respiratory symptoms or do you have respiratory illness within your existing flock?

Somewhat looks like a piece of food in the left nostril. Maybe it's hardened feed in the nostrils, that does happen sometimes, especially if you feed a wet or mushy mash.

If necessary, you can apply just 1 (one) drop of Peroxide to the material in the nostril, let that seep in and see if that helps dissolve and soften it so you can remove it. An Orange Stick (wooden cuticle stick) or plastic flexible dental pick can be used to help work the material loose.

After you clean the nostrils, observe for several more days to see if the material returns and take any note of other symptoms like coughing, sneezing, bubbles in the eyes, etc.

No symptoms at all. And I just checked back at some photos and see she's had this in her nose since at least july 10. With nothing else.

I'll try the peroxide. It really seems jammed in there

If the peroxide doesnt work, go back to the warm water wash rag soaks for as long as needed to soften it up. Then use a toothpick to gently dig the debris from the nostril.
I've had this happen before. It's caused by inhalation of feed dust, or dust from dust bathing. Some hens eat like hogs first thing in the morning.
