That's ok for me that the don't lay to good. And I am good with them going broody...... Where did you get yours? Hatchery? Breeder?they are not very good layers. they are VERY docile (so friendly). they are very well known for being grate broody's. lavender is a very pretty colour![]()
i got mine from a breeder, which is a better choice if you want to show them, but if you just want them as pets a hatchery will do just fine,That's ok for me that the don't lay to good. And I am good with them going broody...... Where did you get yours? Hatchery? Breeder?

I have Cochin Bantams which is just a different name. Mine lay almost everyday and all of mine have gone broody at least once. Since they are heavier they tend to not be flighty. Mine have to fly up to their bar and they seem to do well with that, but when they run from me, they waddle.Hi there! I have noticed that alot of people on byc have Pekin chicken. They are so beautiful. Are they good layers? Are they flighty? Do they go broody alot? Btw I love Nemo's coloring. Hope you don't mind me asking all these questions![]()

I have the same experience. From 3 girls I usually get 2-3 egg per day. Now one is broody so I get 1-2. Their eggs are small, but taste good!hello
loads of people say pekin are bad layers but I would disagree. I used to get eggs everyday (until they became broody) and they're super tasty and have a big yolk
I think they get their bad reputation because they are broody often
my ones aren't flighty, the 'flightiest' is nemo and the highest she can fly is like 5 feet. and she doesn't fly that high normally.
thank you! I don't mind at all![]()
yeah it is probably because they go broody lots and dont lay like a leghorn i love my pekins i dont care if they are broody all the time (its so cute!)hello

The only place I looked was either cackle hatchery or craigslist. And yes I think I've seen Cochin bantams. But you're right i would rather get pekins from a breeder than a hatchery.....weird that you haven't found any...have you found any cochin bantams?
