12 Blk. Orp set: 7 hatched (none are black. Got buff and gold laced)
24 SIlkies set: 3 hatched

6 Coronation Sussex hatched, had to cull 2 for hatching with deformities

I set 34 and I hatched 20, I did not candle (sick) so everybody went to lockdown.

I took a carton out of the fridge at my local grocery store, and incubated them out of curiosity. Out of the 11 I set, I got 4 chicks! WOW! Who woulda thunk? Given the not so gentle commercial shipping, the refrigeration, and time it takes to get to the store, I expected zero!

Heehee, ok I'm going to leave all the legitimate super hatchers alone now

It can certainly be done. Last year for the NYE hatch, I set 12 Trader Joe eggs and hatched 8, it was my first hatch.

The brand name I got is Rock Island Red, but there are different brands from what I've heard discussed in the Trader Joes thread. It depends on your local organic grassroots grocery store who they use.
