when a thread is closed by "OP" what does op stand for? offended person?

It is when the OP (original poster) requests the thread be closed. It is often requested when the OP has received the information they desired and would like members to focus on new/other questions to help others.

I like that thought but when closed due to an OP(Offensive Person) Those usually get removed, not just closed.​
