Closing up Rafters??????????

Boy, you chickenheads are pretty amazing!! I hope someday when my coop and run are FINALLY done, and everything around it is cleaned up, some of you will look at my pictures and go, "Ooohhh, aahh.....so, that's how it's done!" Kind of like I do when I look at your setups. I am just so thoroughly impressed with what everyone seems to be able to accomplish!! Thanks again so much for everyone's input, please keep it coming, I'm soaking it all in.

I agree with this method so you keep the babies safe but still have ventilation... But unless it is way below freezing in the Winter where you live I wouldn't worry about closing it off in the Winter(for ventilation purposes). The chickens are hardier that they look and as long as they are acclimated as the seasons change they'll be fine. We get freezing to below freezing temps some here and the chickens put out enough body heat that it keeps them warm. I've read about open front coops in Canadian Winters.

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this!

I spent 3 hours

, unsuccessfully trying to put this stuff up in the eaves, and I just couldn't do it! I felt like I was going crazy/the stupidest human on the planet!!!
I now have almost half of them covered (before the sun started beating down on me!), and I'll have the rest installed later tonight...
Anyway, you saved this gal from an early grave, due to a stress heart attack!
