Clouds' Geese ~ Picture Thread

So geese aren't messy?!
Not anywhere near as much as ducks! Oh my goodness, geese are neat freaks compared to ducks. 🤣
. . . Except for my muscovies. Muscovies are a comparatively tidy breed of duck.

Idk. They're pretty self sufficient so I hardly notice...
Also their diet consists mostly of grass, so, this is probably gonna sound weird, but the consistency of geese poop compared to ducks is significant I feel 😭

You're right, goose poop is like blended grass and doesn't seem as gross. When I spray it down with a hose it breaks apart and looks to me like someone has spilled a container of herbs.

This could lead to some very interestingly horrible practical jokes. ☺😆

Wow! I never knew that. 🤣 Maybe I need some geese...

Do geese need a pond/pool like ducks?
That is my main hesitation with ducks…
I feel like I would be tuckered out emptying and refilling the pool all the time…
I'm not educated on the necessity side of things but I give mine a nice big bucket that lets them dunk their heads in and they do have a pool that I fill/refill only a few times a week. They love "swimming" so much, I feel like if you can provide it you definitely should!

A question for the geese owners lurking around here...? :D

These are my first geese and so this is my first time sexing them. I do believe I can roughly tell who is the one laying now, I'm saying that one's Sam. I see her go off and nest, she's become a little more independent from the rest etc.
My favourite goose though, Thursday, has started an odd new behaviour and honestly I'm not sure what it is. Twice now, "she" 's almost planted herself between me and the others. When I've been trying to herd them back through the gate they snuck out of. She actually doesn't move when she does it, to the point I can walk right up and touch her all over, even pick her up. When I do go up to her she does crouch very slightly and her wings sort of spread, just a little.
She's my bravest goose and the only one who will eat out of my hand but far from what I'd say is "friendly". The planting herself makes me think she's a boy but the crouching...? Is that actually girl behaviour or am I just thinking into it too much?
