The storm has passed and now it’s just a light drizzle. I let the chickens put to free-range, and even Mochi went out to explore, despite the rain.Is it still storming at your place? What are your girls doing right now?![]()
Beautiful photos,The storm has passed and now it’s just a light drizzle. I let the chickens put to free-range, and even Mochi went out to explore, despite the rain.Only Boba stayed in the chicken area, being broody. Now, because none of her eggs will hatch, I have to do the sad job of getting her to stop being broody. I hate doing it because the chickens seem so forlorn being separated from their eggs, but I certainly don't want her to waste away either.

Oh, thank you so much, TwoCrows! I’ve had a lot of practice trying to get pictures of my never-still flock.Beautiful photos, you ARE a great photographer!
Your birds are so lovely too, I really enjoy seeing them here!
Yes broodies do get depressed when they can't continue to brood. But it is for their own good, some really suffer health wise and if eggs aren't fertile, there's no sense in it. Just give her extra love!![]()
Oh chickens NEVER stop moving! My photography skills are poor enough without blurry chicken heads in the frame.Oh, thank you so much, TwoCrows! I’ve had a lot of practice trying to get pictures of my never-still flock.
I absolutely agree with you about melodies. And extra love it is! *Starts popping popcorn for Boba to munch on while she plays in the yard*

That’s very true, though chicks aren’t easy to come by at this time of year where I am.Uh, if you do want to let Boba raise chicks, you could let her be broody (probably with nest eggs under her) and introduce some chicks to her at around day 21, preferably if she's off of the nest.
True. That’s very true, though chicks aren’t easy to come by at this time of year where I am.Maybe I’ll try that someday though.
