I have been searching and reading for quite some time now and can't find anything definitive.

I have a Speckled Sussex hen that is just under one year old. I have begun to notice that she runs into walls if she's running, and she will sometimes bump into the fence. I picked her up yesterday and noticed that the pupils of both eyes are a cloudy white color. I noticed that a possible symptom of mareks is cloudy iris and paralysis. Her iris looks normal and she moves around just fine. There are 16 chickens total in my flock and all of the other chickens have crystal clear eyes.

Is she just odd, or is this an indication of something?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Can you post a close-up photo? ocular Marek's typically affects the pupil. If you are looking at white behind the iris, you may be looking at a cataract- rare but not unheard of.

I have 5 RIR got them from a local chicken person , as they got older 3 of the five became blind in one eye.I am sure this is some kind of genetic defect from breeding .They all get around fine and are 18 months old.
