Hello
One of my hens has regular poop sometimes but other times has runny poop. The poop was a small amount today and was almost clear with a little cloudiness to it. Sometimes there is a big splat, with a little regular poo and a lot of liquid. Should I be concerned? How should I help her?

Pictures of questionable or abnormal droppings can be posted here. Droppings can vary so much, from normal droppings with a whitecap of urates, to the sticky cecal poops that occur a few rimes a day. Runny droppings can occur from drinking more water than usual, a change in the diet, or from sickness. Some reproductive disorders may cause loose droppings, that may show not eating enough, bacterial infections, or liver problems. Egg products—yolk, albumen, or membrane will sometimes show up in droppings if a shell-less egg has broken inside. Most vets will perform a fecal float for worms or coccidiosis, and sometimes will do a gram stain for bacteria and some yeast infections.
