And we have a frizzle! That's the first chick I've ever gotten out of my frizzle cochin. Knowing my luck it's probably going to be a cockerel though. The color still fascinates me.

The rest of the project chicks absolutely refused to stand still for more than 0.1 seconds, so they had to be held up for pictures. That's just their personalities starting to show. Boy are they different from the silkies.

Ares is going to be silked.

I hope at least one of the lavenders is a pullet. I still can't tell if Alouette is going to be silked or smooth feathered.

First the keepers:
This doesn't guarantee they'll be kept as breeders at the end of the year, but they will stay with me for longer.
Hoping for all pullets but I do feel like Zeus is going to be a cockerel. Of course it's still way too early to tell. Watch me say that and now they'll all be cockerels

And these babies definitely won't be kept as breeders.

I agree that it looks like a blue mottled but it makes no sense when you take the parents into consideration.
