Hello! I'm Tiff and I live in Savannah, GA.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have been riaisng chickens for just over a year. So, not "new," but not far from it.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now, I have 3 hens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm pretty sure I have 2 Easter Eggers/Olive Eggers (not sure which) and an Orpington that I believe is a lavender. I got the chick's from someone who got the eggs from someone else who ran out of incubator space, so she wasn't 100% sure what they were.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love watching them. They are entertaining little monsters!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I collect hobbies, so that's a hobby.
I garden, embroider, cross stitch, crochet, knit, weave, cook, play in the SCA, play games on my phone, run FB groups... I'm not ever not busy.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
family- I'm married (been together for 25 years) with 3 kids (all girls, 15, 11, and 4).
other pets-I have a dog, a hamster, and 2 fish
occupation- I'm an elementary school teacher, a freelance writer, an editor, a digital designer, and a small business owner (starting up an online shop).
other stuff- I'm a huge nerdy geek who loves tying as many of my hobbies together as possible. GenX to the core, so I am a jack of many trades, not sure I've really mastered anything outside of teaching and running FB groups.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC when a local member shared a pic from your FB group into our Backyard Chickens group. I love interacting with them and so, I thought, interacting with even more people would be even more fun!
