Howdy,
My name is Tom, and I live in SW Missouri about 25 miles east of Springfield.
I have a beautiful wife, and 3 awesome kids.
We raise RIR's for eggs for ourselves and sell or give away what we don't need. We usually keep about 25 hens and 2 roosters. We process about 25 to 30 young roos a year for eating. We also have turkeys and rabbits, all for meat.
We have attempted to incubate eggs, but have so far failed. I think my old roosters were not doing their job. They are living in mason jars now. Maybe we'll have better luck with our new flock.
I drive a concrete mixer truck for a living and my wife is a stay-at-home-mom. We have a small acreage that along with the animals (I mean kids), keeps us plenty busy.
