Is it okay for eleven-week-old chickens to be out in the rain? I'm wondering whether I should let them out or not, as there is rain forecasted for today.

Your advice?

I think they would go inside the coop if they feel cold or uncomfortable with the rain. If they have adult feathers they should be okay.

Okay, good. Thanks, Buff Hooligans.

I let them out – they all rushed out the door! But now I hear thunder, and we may get some storms later this evening. They spend a lot of the day under an overgrown lilac bush on the edge of our little patch of woods, and I'm worried they might choose just to sit there if it gets stormy, instead of coming inside in the evening. Would they run through the rain back to their coop at the right time, even in a thunderstorm? Or would they stay outside all night, not knowing what to do?
