Aloha, I am Susan Greenia. We live in Hawaii where there are tons of chickens everywhere. A few months ago a rooster and a hen made their way to our apartment complex and a couple of weeks ago the mama showed up with seven sweet little babies. I know nothing about taking care of chickens, but have been throwing food out to them here and there. They quickly started coming to my door every morning and the babies are not scared of us. I am here to make sure anything I give them will not hurt them. They are still wild, but they are welcome visitors at my apartment anytime. Looking for advice. Mahalo in advance.. ~

One of the many great things about BYC is learning about the variety of issues people face. Here in northern Iowa, I've never come across feral chickens, but I frequently have to assess whether feral cats will want to eat my poultry or pass through without doing harm.

Kudos to you for wanting to do the right by these "wild things" and welcome to the community!
