First i want to thank everyone for such a warm welcome. Yes, i would like to learn how to cull the young i hatched this spring to my best advantage as i would like to raise purebreds, although my first chickens were mutts and truly beautiful in their own way. I hatched 60, I've noticed many have too many leg feathers although the birds are beautiful. Also if i keep any of the young roosters, do i buy new hens for them? Any help is appreciated.

Depends on if you have the room for roosters and their harems. If you do, that is a great way not to have to cull or rehome extra roo's. I have never learned how to cull my extra birds. It helps to know how to do these things, but yes, if I had the room, I would have roo's and their harems in all kinds of coops and barns!
