So about a week ago I switched my now 5 week-old Runner ducks over to layer crumbles. I got the co-op brand, since it was my only choice, and the area around the feeder on the towels I use is now bleached! It wasn't happening with starter crumbles of the same brand, and it isn't bleached out throughout their living area, only in the area right around the feeder. I have looked at the ingredients, and there are a lot of possibly questionable things in it (from my perspective) so I want to change to a different food. I can for sure get the Layena food, and possibly the Omega-3 stuff from Purina. I can also order Mazuri if it's worth it (or another food). Thoughts?

You probably shouldn't be feeding 5 week old ducklings layer feed yet. They should be on grower feed after switching off of duckling food. Just my $.02

From what I understood, correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't they be on 16-18% right now? The only grower feed I could find had over 20%, so I was worried about Angel Wing etc. Between the books I have and the info I find on here I feel as though there is a lot of conflicting info. It's very frustrating...

I would go with the brand has the lowest protein, you don't want to have them grow too fast. I personally like purina feeds but there no feed mills in my area that sell it, so I don't know anything about it.
