Besides $10, what the difference?
The Purina chick/starter feed smells, umm... foodier?
But, so what?

Is Purina any more nutritious or better than the CO-OP brand?

Wow, the co-op brand must be really cheap since I can get a 50# bag of Purina for about $11 here! The best thing to do would be to look at the list of ingredients side by side and also the nutritional analysis side by side. If you could post both, we'd be able to give you a better idea of the nutritional difference between them.

I will only feed Purina feeds. I switched to coop last year to save money and my chickens quit laying all together. I switched back and get nice eggs. When raising chicks the Purina Start and Growth formula seems to make them bigger and healthier chicks.

I completly QUIT using Purina feed do to their lack of quality control & high price. Last bag of Purina Layena Breeder had clumps of feed in it & my chick starter has green pellets throughout. If you are lucky the Co-op feed will have actual ingredients listed unlike Purina. Check the label & just see how they compare. I have used many name brand & local feeds over the years and most do fairly well. Never saw Purina do any better than the rest. JMHO

Huh.. I suppose that's exactly what I wanted to hear, but given the variety of answers, I guess it coumes down to knowing your birds.
At this point, I don't know mine very well.
