Hi,
I live in Australia and it’s heading into winter. We’ve had a bit of wet weather where I live and I was cleaning out my cages and noticed one of my big chooks has had mucus blood in its poo and one of the little pullets. (they live in different enclosures). None of them appear to be sick personality wise, they’re all perky and eating and drinking and foraging as per normal, I’ve just noticed changes in some droppings.
I’ve had the whole flock on treatment for cocci for 3 days now but just want someone to confirm whether this does in fact appear to be cocci or whether it’s something else?
can anything else make chickens have mucus blood in their poo?
I’ve never heard of cocci before in all my life of owning chooks but this year I seem to be treating them every other week for it.
I’ve attached a photo of the suspect poo and their living enclosure. Is it me that’s doing something wrong or their environment?
