My BSL has Cocci. I have a couple questions on how to treat her -

1. Do I have to discard eggs?
2. I've heard she can't eat anything but the treated water or feed - is that true? What about scratch/free ranging?

If you are giving Corid (amprolium) in their water, it needs to be the only water they have available. You may have to pen them to keep them from drinking puddles, etc. during treatment. Corid isn't absorbed much by the chicken; it stays in the gut where it is taken up by the cocci. Purina says you can eat eggs from hens who eat feed medicated with amprolium. And if you are treating one for cocci, you need to treat the flock.

I put some in the whole flocks water. Good things, they will be penned up for 4 of the 5 days of getting it. I have one bird who is lethargic, poofy, and off-poop with a little blood. A second chicken who is laying down too. hopefully I caught it soon enough!!!
