cocci vaccine

Can vaccinated chickens contract cocci? My laying hens are vaccinated against cocci. My meat birds, however, were not vaccinated and have contracted the disease. I'm treating them with Corid. The laying hens are no where near the meat birds, but I'm sure I'm carrying feces on my shoes from time to time. Just want to do everything I can to keep my layers healthy. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

X2 on post in the Emergencies forum. https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures Yes, vaccinated chicks can come down with coccidia, so if they are showing symptoms you need to treat them... if not keep a close eye on them, hopefully the vaccine worked and they have built up their own immunity enough already.
