Hi everyone.
New to the site and forum.
Living in Thailand, and recently aquired ten chickens.
Five - 3 months old.
Four -5-6 months old.
One - Rooster about 6-7 months old
Have outbreak of Coccidiosis , 3 3 month chicks, and 1 five month have died suddenly already.
Rooster and one five month old was first to get sick. Took both to University animal hospital. Diagnosis bacteria problem. Prescibed medecine but five month died on way home. Rooster is doing good and almost back to normal after two weeks.
Started the rest on Amprolium ( Amprophar 20% ) only thing available here in Thailand.
My Problem is, cannot figure out proper mixture for Amprophar ( Amprolium ) for " one gallon " of water, as instructions are for fifty gallons and in grams and thai language.
The forum posts seem to be all over the place as to how much to use.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for that info eggcessive.
That is approx what we have been doing. So good.
I did just find out that when using Amprolium , do not add vitamins to water at same time. Took a lot of digging to find that one.
Again , thank you.

They are drinking and eating.
There is no blood in poop.
University vet gave prescription for Rooster. He is getting better.
Local vet gave pkg of oxytetracycline to put in water.
Univrsity vet said after they get better, take local vets advice, as each district has unique situations.
We are in mountains in rural Thailand
Sometimes a little confusing, but thank you for help.

What did they give for the rooster?

What did they give for the rooster?
Hi KikisGirls
Rooster received Enrofloxacin ( antibiotic ) and Tolfedine ( anti inflammation )
I took poo from each surviving chicken with me and they did lab analysis on each, so have different treatment for each ( lots of work but worth the trouble )
BTW - total cost $12

What are the different things that the vet said was wrong?
I'm curious as to what the diagnoses where?
If you don't mind sharing.
