Cocci

One chick is having diarrhea & bolth chicks are slightly shiver-y. They are 3 weeks old & they r eating & drinking. Can I give them cocci medicine even if I'm not sure they have it? Will it have negative effects on them? Can u guys pls recommend a med that meets the quota above?

Do you have them under a heat lamp? If you suspect coccidia, you can give them Corid (amprollium) powder or liquid at 1/2 tsp. powder or 2 tsp liquid to 1 gallon of water for 5-7 days. Here is a link to info on coocidiosis: http://www1.agric.gov.ab.ca/$department/deptdocs.nsf/all/agdex4616
