Coccidiosis Help!

Paul Farmer said that they'd give you your money back, but you have to dispose of the bird, then he hung up on me, lol

He also said they would not pat for any vet bill, etc.

Yeah I didn't think they would! Thanks so much for calling!! Oh man, I really don't want to kill her! But I also don't want her to suffer! Now I have to figure out a time to go down there. I can't believe they hung up on you!

This place is a hit or miss with the animals. Some make it and some don't. But, They do take exchanges. Nice service. The older guy that works there works very hard. you might have to wait to check out if he's loading Hay. But, that's okay. He works hard, and that's rare now a days. Good prices on chick feed. I'll be back.

If I could give them zero stars I would. I walked in to buy hens and the guys were talking to each other. I stood there trying to look like I need help and they just looked at me and walked to the back. This was the most comfortable shopping experience I've had. Never again will I go back or reccomend it. I don't know what happened to this place, use to be good.

5 stars for selection for sure. They have ALL different kinds of birds and fowl. Lots of different kinds of chickens (a rotating stock) and a variety of ornamental birds. Turkeys, ducks, geese, doves, peacocks, the list goes on and on and on. This is definitely a place for experienced poultry/animal raisers. A lot of reviews say the staff is rude. They are not rude, they are busy. These guys are working hard taking care of A LOT of birds and they don't have time to stand around answering questions so do your research before you go. Know what you need. Get in and get out. Call ahead if you have questions because it is out of the way and sometimes they may not have what you need as their available poultry changes. Despite there being many different feed stores in my area, I frequently drive here about an hour from Cupertino. Worth the drive every time just to see all the animals even if I leave empty-handed.

I've always loved this place. Ever since I was a grade schooler, I loved being in the store and looking at all the available animals. I was especially fascinated with their tortoises! I regularly asked my parents just to take me there "for fun" since we lived right off of Buena Vista.

I'm 23-years-old now and just started my own flock of chickens. I was thrilled to finally be able to have a reason to visit this store without just looking around and then leaving. I ordered five chicks from an online hatchery and stopped by this store to pick up a Buff Orpington chick for a total of six chicks. When the Light Brahma from the mail order passed away, she was replaced by an Easter Egger from this store, as well. Everyone is doing fantastic and thriving on the feed and supplies I've purchased from here.

They have my business, for sure.

Came here in hopes to purchase a few chicks but the Latino worker was so rude. He kept giving us dirty looks and bumped into me and then had the nerve to give a dirty look. Never coming back here and no way are they going to have me as a customer.

You can take the girl outta Missouri but, you can't take the Missouri outta the girl. That's what a good friend of mine told me a week or so ago and that's... what I was saying to myself yesterday as I was browsing the chicks, ducklings, hay bales, feed, tack, bunnies, peacocks, etc. at Farmers Feed and Supply (or Farmers Pet &Feed as the store front says). Nice facility, made me feel like I was back home.

This place is pretty cool though a lil outta the way. I like it so, imo, it's worth driving almost to Gilroy for. We even took Old Monterrey Road most of the way for a lazy Sunday ride. We went in search of live baby chickens to put in our back yard (the neighbors can thank us later) and left with 3 chicks, a duckling, a dog toy and chick starter feed... oh, and a waterer.

The selection was great, grounds were clean enough and the fun factor was pretty high! Only problem was... they seriously need more than 1 person working there on a Sunday afternoon. We walked around for about 20 minutes and nobody came to see if we needed help or even said 'hi' to us. No worries though, a friendly regular customer helped us bag some chicks, showed us what to look for when picking healthy chicks and, pointed out the guy who ended up ringing us up. Nice lady... she should work there too.

All-in-all, I'm happy with my chicks and duckling and they've made it through almost 2 days so keep your fingers crossed. We named them Coffee, Biskit, Bacon and Butter. Nomnom. We aren't going to eat them though, only their eggs. :) Well... WE aren't going to eat them but my doggie, Bella licks her lips every time she gets near em. Bad Girl.

    See ya there!

Farmers Feed and Supply and their employees are awesome! For as many birds, chickens, ducks, quail, cockatiels, gorgeous roosters/chickens and peacocks that they have, I've never seen the cages dirty or animals in poor conditions. The employees have always been very helpful and knowledgeable in answering any questions that I may have. Sometimes they aren't always hanging out at the desk, they are taking care of other customers and their animals. (That remark was for impatient Lisa W.)

Bought 6 chicks on Sunday, one dies on Thursday. The others look okay so far. They were not helpful at all at the store. They told to pick out our own chicks which we did somewhat randomly figuring they were only for sale if healthy. NOT TRUE. Obviously that is why they need the "All Sales Final" sign.
When we paid for our chicks we asked the guy what they needed. He just laughed and said "food and water". NOT TRUE.
As we read online later, they need special feed and constantly clean water they also need lots of warmth up to 100 degrees the first day.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU GO. Do not trust the employees. Better yet go someplace else if you are fairly new to raising chickens.

I purchased 6 chicks here about 5 1/2 months ago. They were sick when I got them but they got better. They all turned out to be hens (thankfully). I did research on the types of chickens and they all turned out layers. Rhode island reds, black-sex links, barred rocks are some of their layers. Do research before you go!

Was never asked if I needed help. Got my things and went to pay. Waited about 15 minutes and gave up waiting for service. Left the food on the counter and walked out to my truck. Once in my truck, a guy asks me if I paid for my stuff. I would give this place 0 stars due to their service and because I was ignored.

They have a nice selection of chickens, geese, ducks, quail, guinea fowl and the like. I was surprised to see that they also have parakeets, lovebirds, cockatiels and rabbits. They even had a yellow collared Macaw in the front. The back area with all the birds and bunnies was also clean (again I was surprised).

Prices are fair. Somethings (like the cob and some beddings) are very inexpensive compared to other places, other items are more expensive than going to TSC a couple miles away. When I went today, there was a Latina chick and her companion in a mad rush to buy parakeets. She ran into the shop and exclaimed, "do you sell parakeets?!" The bewildered sales clerk pointed to the back. The Latina lady leaped into the rear of the store witth gusto.

I'd go there again for supplies if I need them and happen to be in the Gilroy area.

Quote: They're mad at me for other stuff, which I just found out about today... Unfortunately, without a vet workup or necropsy you won't know what your dealing with. Necropsies in CA are free, but you would still have to pay for shipping, though one can use the UCD fedex account and save money.
