Coccidiosis Help!

The hatchery said to give Sulmet, not Corrid. Did we do something wrong? Do we need to find/get/switch to Sulmet?

Sulmet only treat two strains of the nine or more that affect chickens. Did they sat why?

The Corid drench amount when made as described in my last post is 0.07ml per 100 grams. Do you have a kitchen scale?

Sulmet is a sulfa drug (sulfamethazine) and I don't see it very often anymore, but I do see another sulfa called sulfamethoxazole.

We do not have a kitchen scale. Just to make sure I am understanding right... We need to mix a half tsp. of the Corid powder with 9mls of water for EACH sick chicken? Do we put it in their mouth?

No, just 0.07ml per 100 grams. And yes, it is given orally.

Not positive but I think a ten week old BO should weigh about 800 grams, so a 800 gram chick would get 0.56ml, and I'd give this one or two days in addition to their drinking water.

In addition to the Corid drinking water? Sorry for all the questions and thank you for all your help!

Yes, in addition to their medicated water. One day is usually enough to get them drinking, so if you do the oral dose today and she starts drinking, no need to do it a second day.

We really appreciate all the help. They have been more active this afternoon. The bloody stools have slowed down significantly. They are eating and drinking as well. Hoping we have rounded the corner.

I too have another girl sick. I took her to the vet. She does have coccidiosis. He gave her a steroid shot to try and give her a boost. He gave her Albon liquid for 10 days. He said she has a 50/50 chance.
She has been sleeping all day. I am worried with all the sleep she isn't drinking enough. Any other suggestions?

She is a 7 week old Polish. Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
