Coccidiosis - what to do with the run/coop

Hope all are OK. When I have suspected coccidia I always treat those showing symptoms with a couple drops of liquid Corid in a couple cc's applesauce. This thicker mixture will trigger swallow reflex better than mixing with just water. Often the bird showing symptoms might not drink enough water fast enough to help. The rest of group that still acts OK will be active enough to drink plenty of water. Remember to change water daily.

No one seems terribly ill or weak so I think just adding it to the water is good enough in this case. I observe the chick in question evry time I go visit them and she is miving about and eating greens and treats now with the rest of them. So I think we're over the worst part of this. But I'll keep the applesauce in mind for the future. Thanks!

Thank you for checking in! Yes, the pullet seems much better - I have seen no more yellow poops after day two of the medication and she is keeping up with the rest of them. Now when she is already on the roost when I come with their treats at night to lock them up, she jumps back down again and gets her share. So I hope that was it. I will have them on the low maintenance dose of Corid for another almost two weeks and in the meantime I have already started to feed them more natural worm discouraging foods - they get an armload of mustard and radish greens already every morning, I put extra pumpkin seeds in their dry food and will add some other things daily. And I will keep a close eye on all of them. But the dropping board in the morning shows lots of nice round normal droppings and a few of their standard brown mush cecals, nothing unusual... Yay!
Thanks for your help!
