To treat coccidiosis I give them a little milk because chickens are lactose intolerant and it causes diarrhea which pushes out all the harmful bacteria and they get better in a few days. It only give them a little bit because it gives them no nutrients and they need water to still live

Actually, milk coats the intestinal lining slowing the effects of the damage caused by cocci until amprolium or a sulfa drug can be given.

I had some that had it and they were better after the milk because we didn’t have any antibiotics
