I have 7 ,1 1/2-2 year old hens with no signs of illness. They free range frequently in my yard. My dog who also free ranges in the yard was diagnosed with Coccidiosis, possibly cleaning up after the birds. Should I treat the birds for this

I believe coccidiosis is host specific, so you chickens can't get it from your dog. Your dog would have gotten it from another dog. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I had a pup with it once. It wasn't fun to deal with.

I’m more concerned the dog got it from the chickens

Chickens are usually affected by coccidia from the genus Eimeria, dogs by those from the genus Isospora, so not likely the dog got it from the chickens. Cryptosporidium is similar to coccidia and is not host specific. If your vet can tell you which strain of coccidia your dog has, that should answer the question for sure. Most strains of coccidia are host specific. Your soil may have the dog kind from a previous resident or from a dog that passed through.
