Wanted to ask before I started dosing with meds, I’m pretty sure this is the issue but let’s be smart and talk to the rest of the chicken folks.

One ( best I can tell just one ) of my 12-13 week Lavender Orpington babies I have to guess 2 pounds max weight?? , has a runny gelatin like poop, I noticed last Thursday afternoon but only seen two spots and couldn’t tell which chicken it was. I thought it might have just been the greens they ate ( collard greens ), go forward a few days I have not seen any more, until yesterday afternoon/evening. Seen what looked like this one girl poop and walk away as I was putting them to bed, happen to get a closer look, and it looked again like a runny green/brown gelatin poop. So before I start a Corid treatment can I get opinions or thoughts. Might be more then one girl with the issue if just not seen them yet. She is eating and drinking fine not lethargic or anything acting her normal bossy self.

Coop is 9x9 and 5ft tall inside deminsions, run is 22 x 20ish I think it is 22 x 21 don’t remember, the run design went to as we go because of tree roots blocking us from digging. Half covered half open air.

Pic below isn’t my picture i didn’t have my phone or tablet on me to take one, seen this picture elsewhere and looks dang nearly identical. Yes it’s keeping me up thinking about this tonight. So I’m posting to be sure before I run to TSC and buy something useless or wrong and harmful.

I agree with others, looks like cecal poop. Chickens will expel this every 8-10 poops or so. Coccidia will sometimes show blood in the poop, and it would also be runny or mucus-like. Often time birds with coccidia would also have droopy wings and be very fatigued. These are just several common symptoms to look for with coccidia.

Hi @Kgbao here is a great list of all the different poops...

maybe it helps you decide on what to do when you think back about your chickens poop!
The pic you posted looks like a normal Cecil poop.
Well I got a better picture of the poop this morning. Thank you so much for the link, and repsonses. I sure glad it isn’t anything bad it does compare up to the cecal poop in one of the photos.

Its a good thing to keep an eye on the poop regardless, it can always help point to how they're doing :) you're doing well for checking! This definitely looks like cecal poop though. Hope they are doing well

Agree, looks like cecal poop, and normal. Runny, mucousy, or sometimes bloody droppings can be an indication of coccidiosis, as well as lethargy, sitting fluffed up, isolating themselves and not eating or drinking well. So how they are acting is as important as the poops. But very good that you are aware and notice changes. If you are ever in doubt, Corid is very safe, so treating will not do any harm.

it looks like normal poop to me. Coccidiosis has blood in it, and they also have diarrehea also and they look puffed up like their cold all the time. I just had my 6 week old black copper maran die yesterday from this disease. I was told that Corid is fine for early signs of the disease but once you see puffiness or ruffled feathers use Toltrazuril 5% oral suspension for coccidiosis give it in the water but also directly into the sickest ones' mouth if it's gonna work you will see immediate response. hope this helps.
