Coccidiosis

Can anyone advise me if it is safe to feed raw chickens that have been infected with Coccidiosis to dogs. The chickens have not been on medicated feed or medication. Thankyou.
Welcome to BYC!! How are you feeding them? Prepared? Plucked? As is?

Thank you for the welcome. Feeding them as is, no preparation , just cutting them into legs, wings, neck and halving the body. The dogs are used to eating raw necks, feet etc I just don't know if infected birds would be ok otherwise it's such a waste.

From what I read, it is a fowl-related sickness, and the disease would die with them anyway, so I believe to be safe, yes.

Hello Samantha, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
As long as the birds were gutted and the cavity well rinsed I don't think there would be any risk of harming the dogs. I'd feed my dogs birds that had coccidiosis before being processed.
