I have a small flock of bantam cochins and have lost two in the past three months with similar symptoms. First noticeable symptom for both of them was self-isolation and being puffed up. Checked their bums and they each had bright green lose droppings, but no blood. I started the whole flock on corrid. The first girl perked up but then passed two weeks later. I thought maybe I had just caught things too late and the damage had been done intenstinally. This last girl went fast, just two days after noticing symptoms and starting treatment. She also had watery eyes and a hot, swollen comb 24 hours after starting treatment. My concern is the rest of the flock, and I'm worried that maybe this isn't coccidiosis after all, but I don't know what else it could be or how to troubleshoot treatment to protect the rest of my girls. I still have everyone on corrid and will treat with probiotics and vitamins after their 5 day corrid treatment is up, but what else can I do or treat for to nip whatever this is in the bud? I also thought coccidiosis was mostly a summer thing?
