Cochin bantam chick development

Week 6 for the Grey one. He is starting to loose his baby voice already and keeps growing his comb and wattles.

Week 3,5: All of the other babies have grown their feathers more and they all have the same amount of feathers. They all got little wattles.

The ones I thought were cockerels stopped growing their comb, it stayed somewhat the same size. My patridge dark brown chick (chick 2) has grown it's comb and wattles and now looks like the other "cockerels". It's the first one on the picture. I don't know if you can figure out the gender by looking at feathers in patridge chicks? I am confused because this one was really "pullet" like up until now. It's feet also got bigger. Éclair has got big feet too.

Second pic is Grey chick.

The other pictures are what I think are pullets still. They have no comb "spikes" at all and very tiny wattles. I think the first pullet would be Calico and the second one I am not sure. Does anyone know? Does light patridge exist?

Éclair, who's most likely a little man, is in the last picture.

It's hard to tell with the lighting and they're still young. The first, 6th, and 7th pictures look like possible cockerels to me. As for colors, I'm not sure at all. I've still got some I'm trying sort out, lol.

Everyone's pictures to keep it easy to follow.

Observations of week 4:
Chick 6 has not grown his wattles the same way the other "cockerels" do. They are just as tiny as my chick 4 and chick 7s wattles (girls probably). His comb is visible but pale.
4 is now called Josephine
7 is now called Chanel. This one is starting to show tiny spikes on her comb.

Chick 2 and chick 5 have the red-est comb and the biggest wattles now.

Éclair (chick 3) hasnt grown his comb and it's pale. Medium wattles. Feathers are all over the place and not so neatly carried as the rest of the chicks. Chick 1 has this too, he looks like a little tornado cockerel.

Summary: what I think
1 cockerel (now 6w old)
2 cockerel? Big red wattles and red comb
3 cockerel? Big pale comb and medium wattles
4 pullet: no comb and tiny wattles
5 cockerel? Big red comb and red big wattles
6 cockerel??? Pale large comb and small wattles (picture)
7 pullet? Very pale tiny comb and tiny wattles

Week 5 for the littles and week 7 for the big grey one.

Chick 1 (Grey): I hear crowing sometimes, I think it's him. When I pick him up he pecks at me and acts like he mounts my hand :/
His tail feathers start to curl.

Chick 2: Big red comb now and red wattles
Chick 3 : little pink comb and pink wattles
Chick 4: Big red comb and red wattles
Chick 5: no comb at all, fights my Grey one sometimes but is never the fight starter. Tiny pink wattles
Chick 6: little pink comb and pink wattles
Chick 7: Tiny pale spikes are visible, Tiny pink wattles

I have a 10 week old Porcelain d'Uccle that pecks at me when I pick him up, and his tail feathers curl too. I never even thought about this being the reason why. He isn't crowing yet, no one is. But he's a definite he. I learned something, and all before coffee! 😆

Your babies are so precious! I'm loving watching their development on your thread.

Week 8 for my grey rooster "Muze". He is starting to show Isabel coloring? He is so pretty.

The rest is now 6 weeks old. Everyone has such big combs now, except my chicks Josephine (chick 5) and Chanel (chick 7). The black one has not grown his comb and wattles anymore. Now he looks like my "hens". I doubt that he is a hen because of his long tail. What do you all think?
