Can anyone tell me what Colors I can put with what to experiment with developing the Brown Red, Mille Fleur, Lemon Blue and Columbian Color varieties. I know it will take several breedings to accomplish this. I already have all the basic colors. Any help will be appreciated.

For Mille Fluer- Mille Fluer D'cculs crossed to Buff Cochin.. That's all I know. @MysteryChicken might know.?

Brown Red is a Birchen Coloration.

I know for Millie Fluer you need to start with a good Wheaten based bird. You breed it in a mix (idk exactly) to Black Mottled, Colombian, There may be others. Breed to Mottled for each feather looking dipped in black and white on the tips. Cull all with black on hackles or too much on neck. Get it good and going looking good. Breed to Colombian and do the same. Then you want to take that (there could be others) and breed it back to itself. Make it look good. It will take years. I suggest taking each beginning bird you use should be the best looking ones. Breed with type to the SOP. Don’t use the bad ones. Always choose type over color. I started from a pair of MFs that had bad type and meh coloring. This is them now. Still not the best, but better than it was.

And an example from Cochins International I think. Mine is a long shot, but hoping to get more birds. I currently just have him and his sister due to some losses, but hoping to increase this into a real project. (Btw his comb has too little points, a minor thing. His tail should be longer. His color is great, he is really young {7 months} so doesn’t have all his flowering yet. His feet feathers should be a little bit shorter, but are very nicely feathered all around. His feet are a bright yellow/orange as they should be. Eyes are orange as well. But his type is bad. He needs to be fluffier and look as soft as he feels, he needs to have a fluffier tail. The tail is what I’m trying to breed out. His is the best I’ve got so far)

Only reason you shouldn’t do this is because the Duccles don’t have the right type. It will probably take less time and result in a better bird starting from scratch. The tail will point upward, the type will look like that of a hatchery bird, the tail wouldn’t be fluffy as it should, and feet feathers would be a bit off. But you could try. Just risky move
