Cochin bantam sexing?

I paid for 2 “show quality” pullets but I’m starting to believe I got a cockerel who’s got a slow feathering gene. Does this look like one cockeral and one pullet to you? They are around 9-11 weeks old(not sure exact age but I’ve had them 7 weeks now)

Ignore their filth they just ate watermelon lol.

Regarding age.. we might be able to tell how old they were when you got them if you have pics of the feathering

There is NO way a bird can be show quality at two weeks.. it can be from show "quality" parents. I wanna see the ribbons if that's claimed and also are we talking county fair or national meets?

There's also no way to sex them that young aside from vent sexing which takes training and practice and still is only 90% guaranteed by most hatcheries and most of them won't sex bantams though there are few that do. Or maybe if a sex linked (gold or red over silver based) cross has been used.

Is anything frizzled ever show quality? I'm not familiar with Cochin standard of perfection too deeply beyond the basics (comb, skin, toe count, feathered shanks, patterns) or that (frizzle) as being an accepted trait. Looks like they both may be (I also think a pair gender wise).. if both are frizzled (please) don't breed them together otherwise get sizzle and very undesirable outcomes. (I wanna add unethical and irresponsible if forewarned but those both sound judgey.. please just take it as strongly advised against in order to preserve your fun adventures due to predictable issues).

Frizzle is a breed outside the US..

Definitely one of each! You may want to chat with the breeder--if they sold them both as pullets you should get your money back on the one!
