Here, there, and everywhere...
I am wondering if you can tell the sex of Cochin chicks at around 4 weeks? Would a Roo have a pronounced comb of any kind by that age?
I have a single blue cochin chick that is right around four weeks and the waiting is killing me!

They develop VERY slowly. I had one cockeral, I think, but he was killed before I ever found out for sure, and I thought he was a pullet untill about four months old.

Someone with more knowledge will be able to tell you better, though.

Well, I have a little guy that was red at only three weeks. Here are some pictures of him and his girl who sadly dissapeared a few days ago

If you have more than one it's very easy to compare. I could tell genders on the Cochins chicks I got when they were just a few days or a week old.

I don't know how I do it. I can just usually tell. lol

Looks at comb size. Thats the biggest factor for me.
