I actually got this little chick by accident. I am probably one of the few who really doesn't like feathered feet on chickens and I am realizing I don't really care for the ones without tails too (rumpless??). So in my excitement to get "rare breed" chicks at the feed store (they called them rare breeds) I end up with a feathered footed little one. She can stay as long as she is a she...someday we shall see. Any guesses on color??? is it a Cochin? I was just going off of pictures I found.

It isn't rumpless, just hasn't grown out its tail yet. It kind of looks bearded/muffed to me, which would mean it is likely a D'Uccle. It's a similar color to a Mille Fleur D'Uccle chick too, I think.

Thank you, so it might not even be a Cochin? interesting little mystery chick with feathered feet. I realize it has no tail right now, but I thought Cochins didn't have a nice tail that's all.

What feed store did you get them from? If you got them from Orchalens (sorry about spelling) you can go to Esteshatchery.com and look under rare breeds and bantams and you might find a breed that is a match

I got them from Rural King, I know some have come from Cackle Hatchery but the other Rural King in my area had some EE's from Thomas or Thomasons and another name I wasn't familiar with. I did go to Cackle and look at their "rare breeds" and everything matches up but this one not quite. My guess was silver laced.
